Midwest Tour 2010 - Day 3: Matt's Son...Landon

Kachunk. It's amazing how often you hear that sound driving along the highways in Chicago - it's strange to see them without snow...it tends to smooth over the pot holes. Landon and I are leaving a rather busy Starbucks and heading to Shorewood to set up for our show at Louie's; we're peculiarly punctual this time.
Ah yes, the playoffs. It strikes us both that we're going to be playing our show in the middle of the Eagles/Cowboys game - something to worry about if you're in Texas, but in the outskirts of Chicago, the room is mostly filled with middle-aged, music-starved patrons casually glancing at the game every now and then.
"When does the entertainment go on?" Landon and I hear a voice ask from a few seats away. We speak to the couple, whose Midwestern congeniality is not lacking in the slightest of course, and tell them we'll be going on around 7:30. They proceed to tell us that the reason they came out to the show was because they looked at the venue's website and saw that Matt and Landon were playing.
At this point, I'm feeling a little inflated that this couple we've never met is excited just because they saw that we were playing...but that, of course, isn't the case. "Our son's name is Matt and our grandson's name is Landon," they explain, "So we had to come check out what you guys were doing."
Awesome. Whether for namesake or for music, we're glad they are there. Louie's is a blast - really starting to like this Midwest thing...

P.S. - driving home, the temperature and time at First National Bank reads: 1 degree.
